Over the years Marvel Comics and their writers have published numerous Avengers Comic Books and storylines. Many of these titles ran for short periods of time, detailing a specific adventure and focusing on a small group of Avengers.
One of the Avengers teams that comic book enthusiasts can find here at White Dragon Comics is The Uncanny Avengers. The Uncanny Avengers formed in 2012 and consisted of members from both The Avengers and The X-Men. the team known as the Avengers Unity Squad,included Captain America (Steve Rogers), Havok, Rogue, the Scarlet Witch, Thor and Wolverine. The Uncanny Avengers comic books ran three series with each series being written by Rick Remender.
Avengers 1959 comic books is a limited series that ran for five issues. This comic book mini-series was thought of as creepy by a majority of Avengers fans. This particular series was written and drawn by Howard Chaykin and fans either loved it or hated it. Avengers 1959 spills out of The New Avengers, with Nick Fury in the control seat. Fury has put together a team of heroes and villains to hunt down nazis and various mad scientists and monsters left over from the war.
Avengers Academy is a Marvel Comic Book series that debuted in 2010. Avenger Academy comic books tell the story of a group of super-powered teenagers that are selected to join a training academy, in hopes of joining the The Avengers in the future. The comic book series ran for nineteen issues/two years. Avengers Academy ended with issue #39 and the closure of the Avengers Academy.
Avengers A.I. published by Marvel Comics and released in 2013 as part of Marvel Now!. Avengers A.I. comic book series takes up after the events of Age of Ultron, where the world has been colonized by A.I.s who may or may not have positive feelings about the way humanity has been treating them for the last 100 years. Avengers A.I. comic books ran for one year ending in 2014.
In 2012 as part of Marvel Now! Avengers Arena comic book began. The Avengers Arena series focused on 16 young heroes from the Marvel Universe and pitted them against each other in a kill or be-killed, reality show scenario on Murderworld run by Arcade. The comic book series ran for eighteen issues and ended with issue eighteen. Avengers Arena comic book series will be followed by a new title, Avengers Undercover.
The New Avengers ran for four series and is currently still in print with new issues.The New Avengers, which is a spin-off of The Avengers debuted in November of 2004 and ran for five years. The second series of the comic book ran for two years and consisted of several Avengers and X-Men characters. The third volume of New Avengers comic books started with a new numbering system with an all-new issue #1. Volume three also ran for two years, ending in 2005. Volume four launched in October of 2015 and is still currently running.
