May 2014 was one of the most exciting months in the comic book world, new releases, continuing stories and lots of comic book fun. From Action/adventure and sci-fi/superheroes to live action TV shows/movies and everything in between, the month of May 2014 had something for every comic book fan.
Kid-friendly comic books were in abundance in May, Kaboom Comics gave fans of Adventure Time not one new comic book but two. Kaboom also gave all-age’s readers a new issue of Bravest Warriors and another installment of the highly sought after Peanuts, while IDW Comics published a second issue of Dexter’s Laboratory and brand new stories from the popular, My Little Pony series. IDW Comics did not stop there, publishing Powerpuff Girls, all-new Popeye Classics, Rocky and Bullwinkle and Samurai Jack Comic books. DC Comics jumped in on the all-ages comic books as well with a new issue of Scooby Doo, Where are you? And, Bongo Comics published to new tales one from the infamous Simpsons and Spongebob Squarepants.
Marvel Comics and DC Comics published several hit comic books in the month of May 2014, once again taking all but one of the top ten sellers spots, with Marvel Comics' Original Sin snagging the first slot. Amazing Spider-Mann # 1.1 and,# 2 rounding out the top three.
DC Comics released Futures End, the DCU Five Years Later; this is the second of three weekly series being introduced from DC Comics. While Marvel Comics released the All-New Original Sin, Who Shot the Watcher? Dark Horse Comics gave readers an all new Axe Cop, American Choppers # 1, while Dynamite Comics released their newly acquired, Chaos # 1 and over at Image Comics a new Chew/Revival # 1 was released and Zenescope Comics published a new annual, Grimm Fairy Tales 2014 and new comic Warlord of Oz # 1.
