Marvel Comics Ghost Rider has had several different personas over the years and has been portrayed in comic books, block buster movies and guest appearances on television shows, all of which helped skyrocket the popularity of this bad-boy ant-hero!

The very first Ghost Rider was known as the Phantom Rider and starred in western comic books. The first supernatural Ghost Rider is stunt motorcyclist, Johnny Blaze. Blaze was desperate to save his dying father and when presented with an opportunity to save him Johnny jumped at it, unfortunately for Blaze this deal was with the devil and must assume the identity of the Ghost Rider. At night and when around evil, Blaze finds his flesh consumed by hellfire, causing his head to become a flaming skull. He rides a fiery motorcycle and wields blasts of hellfire from his body, usually from his skeletal hands.

The next soul sold to the devil belonged to Danny Ketch, Danny found a motorcycle in a cemetery and when he placed his hand on it he was transformed into the Ghost Rider. This transformation included his clothes changing with him as it took on the appearance of a spiked leather jacket with chains, gray leather pants and spiked gloves and boots. Ketches motorcycle also took part in the transformation with flaming wheels that allow the bike to nearly fly across surfaces and a shield-like battering ram on the front.

Alejandra Jones the next Ghost Rider is the daughter of an American human trafficker who sells her and her brothers and sisters to a temple for training… to become the next Ghost Rider. Chosen by Seether but is eventually replaced by Robbie Reyes.
Robbie Reyes is next on the list of Ghost Riders in the comic books. Robbie Reyes drives a black muscle car, a 69’ Dodge Charger instead of a motorcycle and can pass harmlessly through it. Although Johnny Blaze feel’s that Reyes is not a true spirit of vengeance, he still is given powers reminiscent of Blaze’s Ghost Rider. Along with the muscle car Reyes can manifest and control chains ending in thin knives or sickles.
