Marvel Comics had the best selling comic book of April 2015 with the all-new Star Wars #4. In fact, Marvel gained four of the ten top-selling comic books of April with all of its Star Wars stories, Darth Vader #4, Kanan: The Last Padawan #1 and Princess Leia #3.
DC Comics snatched the remaining six top-selling slots with its all-new Convergence series issues #0 - 4. Convergence is a two-month weekly limited series, published by DC Comics and will run from April 2015 to May 2015. Convergence spins out of the final issues of the weekly series, Earth 2: World's End and The New 52: Futures End. Following Convergence, in the top ten best sellers of April is Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's always popular, Batman #40.
Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead #140 was Image Comics' best-selling comic book in April, Dark Horse Comics' top book, Alex de Campi and Fernando Ruiz's Archie Vs. Predator #1, a crossover with Archie Comics and the 20th Century Fox sci-fi horror franchise, ranked #74. Finally, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic #1: Sombra, the first part of IDW Publishing's weekly event about the villains of the Pony verse, was the publisher's best-selling comic for the month at #143.
The top five best sellers among magazines included the always rip-roaring Mad Magazine #533 taking the number one slot followed by Doctor Who magazine#484. Back Issue #80 and issue #79 and the Walking Dead Magazine #12 rounded out the top five.
Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead Volume 23 from Image Comics was April's best-selling graphic novel. In total, Image Comics had four products in the top ten including Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples' Saga Volume 4, Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy Volume 1, and Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead Volume 1: Days Gone Bye. Warren Ellis and Jerome Opena's Avengers: Rage of Ultron, an original graphic novel, was Marvel Comics' best-selling graphic novel for April.
DC Comics had four titles in the top ten, led by Bill Willingham's Fables Volume 21: Happily Ever After, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Batman Volume 5: Zero Year: Dark City, Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti's Harley Quinn Volume 1: Hot in the City, and Batman Volume 6: The Graveyard Shift at #8. Rounding out the top ten was BOOM! Studios' Lumberjanes Volume 1. Among the premier publishers, two 1980s franchises join forces in IDW Publishing's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters, their best-selling graphic novel in April. Finally, Paul Tobin and Juan Ferreyra's Prometheus: Fire and Stone, the sequel to Ridley Scott's film Prometheus, was Dark Horse Comics' top graphic novel for April.
